
MPL Signs MoU with Health Ministry to Support Ambulance Repair and Servicing
Agreement aims to strengthen maintenance of ambulances used in health facilities across the Maldives.
Malé, 10 March 2026 – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health to support the repair and servicing of ambulances and vehicles used in health centres and hospitals across the Maldives.
The agreement was signed by MPL’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Mueen, and Ismail Abdulla, Minister of State for Health, during a ceremony held at the Ministry.
Under the agreement, MPL will oversee the repair and servicing of ambulances operating across the country. In addition to overseeing repairs and servicing, MPL has been tasked with facilitating the import of ambulances to the Maldives through contractor financing arrangements.
The collaboration between MPL and the Ministry of Health aims to strengthen the reliability of emergency transport services and support healthcare delivery across the islands.
