
MPL Conducted a Business Forum in Fuvahmulah
Strengthening partnerships and promoting trade opportunities in the southern region
Fuvahmulah, 23 October 2025 - As part of CSR’s ongoing “Badhahi” program, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) conducted a Business Forum in Fuvahmulah City, bringing together local business owners, financial institutions, and government representatives to explore trade and port development opportunities in the southern region.
The forum aimed to strengthen collaboration between MPL and regional businesses, while promoting the efficient use of port services across the Maldives. Representatives from the Bank of Maldives (BML), Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), and the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) participated in the event, offering valuable insights on import facilitation, payment solutions, and business development support for local entrepreneurs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament for Fuvahmulah Constituency, Ali Fazad, Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq, council members, and from MPL, Advisor Ali Hashim.
The Badhahi Program is designed to foster regional engagement through business forums, outreach sessions, and training programs across the atolls. A similar forum was previously held in Kulhudhuffushi, continuing MPL’s efforts to strengthen stakeholder relationships and drive regional economic growth.
