MPL Completes Repair and Installation of Mooring Buoy at Malé Commercial Harbor
Marine Fleet team carries out repair and installation work in-house.
Malé, 15 February 2026 – As part of ongoing efforts to repair the mooring buoys used for docking Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) tugs and barges, the repair of one buoy has been completed, and it was reinstalled today.
The repair work was carried out by employees of the Marine Fleet Section under MPL’s Fleet Services Department.
While the installation of these buoys had previously been outsourced to private contractors, the installation this time was also completed by the Marine Fleet’s own divers.
Resuming the use of these mooring buoys will help facilitate other operational activities at the western quay wall area of the Male’ Commercial Harbor.
